
Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari was accompanied by heavy monsoon showers during the Rath Yatra festivities in Kolkata on Thursday, but their enthusiasm was not overshadowed. He was among a large group of worshippers who came together to participate in the traditional chariot parade organized by ISKCON, emphasizing that it is oneof the country's most significant religious festivals and has great spiritual significance.
Despite the adverse weather conditions, the Chief Minister was present at the Albert Road procession and participated in the traditional ceremony of pulling ropes from Lord Jagannath's chariot. It was an auspicious act, and the beginning of the great procession by Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra,and Goddess Subhatra through the city.).
Adhikari addressed his followers on the occasion, extending his greetings to people from both West Bengal and the entire country. He characterized Rath Yatra as a celebration of faith, togetherness, and cultural harmony, uniting individuals from diverse backgrounds. The streets of Kolkata were packed with crowds as thousands of people watched on from the wet pavements. Adhikari's first time being a part of the Rath Yatra as Chief Minister at the ISKCON Kolkata procession made the event more noteworthy this year. The importance of preserving the state's religious and cultural heritage was highlighted by him.
