Suvendu Adhikari Hails Massive Nandigram Support, Vows to “Repay Debt” and Predicts 100 Years of BJP Rule

IIE DIGITAL DESK : Nandigram, 6 May: West Bengal Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was greeted with a massive public gathering in Nandigram on Wednesday morning, where he reiterated his deep political and emotional connection with the constituency, calling it his “home of trust and support.”

After securing a decisive victory from both Nandigram and Bhabanipur in the 2026 elections, Adhikari expressed gratitude to voters for their continued backing over the years. He highlighted his electoral journey, noting that the people of Nandigram had elected him repeatedly—first as an MP twice and then as an MLA three times.

Addressing supporters amid what appeared to be a sea of people, he said that he would “repay the debt” owed to Nandigram for the overwhelming support he has received over the years. His remarks drew strong applause from the gathered crowd.

Adhikari also made a bold political assertion, claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would remain in power for the next 100 years. His statement added to the already heated political atmosphere following the recent election results in the state.

During his visit, he offered prayers at a Hanuman temple and interacted with party workers and supporters, who welcomed him enthusiastically. The atmosphere was marked by celebratory scenes as supporters expressed pride in his victories from both constituencies.

Bhabanipur, he had earlier participated in celebrations with party workers, including festive traditional activities following the election results announcement.

Nandigram, Adhikari also paid tribute to several local colleagues and families of martyrs, acknowledging their long-standing association with the movement and political struggle in the region. He promised continued development and transformation of Nandigram, assuring that he remains committed to the constituency regardless of future political responsibilities.

Referring to electoral norms that may require him to vacate one of his two seats, Adhikari said that the final decision lies with the party leadership. However, he assured supporters that he would continue to serve both constituencies in spirit and responsibility.

Reaffirming his political presence, he concluded by stating that he remains, and will continue to remain, actively engaged in Bengal politics, signaling continuity in his leadership role.
