IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Kharagpur, August 9 : Tiranga Yatra was organised in Kharagpur of West Midnapore district on Sunday amid tremendous enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Dilip Ghosh joined the procession, carrying the tricolour national flag and participating alongside a large number of people.

The Tiranga Yatra witnessed the participation of several local residents and supporters who gathered with the national flag in their hands. The programme was organised with the objective of expressing respect for the Tricolour and remembering the sacrifices made by freedom fighters during India's struggle for independence. The atmosphere remained charged with patriotic sentiment as participants walked through the area carrying the national flag.

The organisers said that the participation of common people reflected their strong emotional connection with the national flag and the country's history. People from different sections of the area took part in the programme with enthusiasm, turning the procession into a significant public gathering.

Speaking during the programme, Minister Dilip Ghosh said that Tiranga Yatras were being organised across Bengal as part of a wider campaign to promote respect for the national flag. He said the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative was also aimed at ensuring that the Tricolour reaches every household and that people actively participate in programmes associated with national pride and patriotism.

“‘Tiranga Yatra’ is being organised across Bengal and through the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the national flag is being taken to every household. The programme has started today and similar programmes will be organised in other districts as well,” Dilip Ghosh said.

He further stated that a major programme would be organised in Kolkata on August 10, where thousands of people are expected to participate. According to him, the Kolkata programme would be one of the significant events of the campaign and would further strengthen the message of national unity and respect for the Tricolour.

The Kharagpur procession was marked by the sight of participants carrying the national flag as they moved through the area. The event also provided an opportunity for people to recall the contribution and sacrifices of those who fought for India's independence. Organisers expressed hope that similar programmes in different parts of Bengal would encourage greater public participation and strengthen awareness about the significance of the national flag.

The Tiranga Yatra in Kharagpur thus became a display of patriotic spirit, with Minister Dilip Ghosh joining local residents in paying tribute to the nation's freedom fighters and highlighting the importance of the Tricolour. The organisers said that the campaign would continue in different districts in the coming days, culminating in the larger programme scheduled to be held in Kolkata on August 10.
