IIE Digital Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bikaner, Rajasthan, to inaugurate several significant infrastructure projects, including the redevelopment of 103 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The event marked his first public address following India's Operation Sindoor, a military operation targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan.
The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims to modernize over 1,300 railway stations across India, enhancing passenger amenities and integrating regional architectural designs. The 103 stations inaugurated on this day span 86 districts across 18 states and Union Territories, with a total investment exceeding ₹1,100 crore.
In Bikaner, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Deshnoke Railway Station, located near the Karni Mata Temple. The station's architecture reflects traditional temple designs to accommodate the large number of pilgrims visiting the site annually.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi also flagged off the Bikaner–Mumbai Express, a new train service aimed at enhancing connectivity between Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
Addressing a public rally in Deshnoke, Prime Minister Modi praised the Indian Armed Forces for their swift and decisive action during Operation Sindoor. He stated that in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, nine major terror hideouts were destroyed in just 22 minutes, emphasizing that India's enemies now understand the consequences of provoking the nation.
The Prime Minister also reiterated his commitment to national security, stating that Pakistan would have to pay a heavy price for every terrorist attack and that such actions would be met with a strong response.
Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹26,000 crore in Rajasthan. These initiatives encompass various sectors, including transportation, energy, and infrastructure, aimed at boosting the state's economic growth and development.
