Claim of a 30-Year-Old Prophecy as Maa Baglamukhi Temple Established in Kusthalia
IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Bankura, June 19: The idol installation and inauguration of the Maa Baglamukhi Temple were completed amid a spiritual atmosphere and special religious ceremonies at Lalpur in the Kusthalia region of Bankura. On Friday, a congratulatory message was sent virtually by the state’s Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Agnimitra Pal. The temple was inaugurated by Maharaj Samireshwar Brahmachari in the presence of several saints, distinguished guests, local residents, and devotees who arrived from different districts to take part in the auspicious occasion.
The temple’s founder Hriday Haldar, the establishment of the temple is linked to a prophecy made nearly three decades ago. He claimed that around 30 years ago, his elder brother, who was only nine years old at the time, received an idol of Maa Baglamukhi from a saint. The saint had reportedly predicted that after 30 years, the goddess would be formally established through the efforts of Hriday Haldar and that the temple would gain recognition among devotees from far and wide.
The family claimed that in honour of the prophecy, the idol was carefully preserved inside a covered box and worshipped regularly for the past three decades. Finally, after years of devotion and waiting, the idol of the goddess was ceremonially installed inside the newly built temple on Thursday through traditional religious rituals and Vedic ceremonies. The moment the idol was unveiled became an emotional occasion for the family members, who saw it as the fulfilment of a long-awaited spiritual journey.
Hriday Haldar expressed his happiness and gratitude after the completion of the temple’s establishment. He said that he feels blessed and fortunate to have been able to fulfil the responsibility of installing Maa Baglamukhi after a wait of several decades.
The inauguration of the temple created a festive atmosphere across the entire region. Throughout the day, large numbers of devotees gathered at the temple premises, and the religious programmes, prayers, and celebrations filled the locality with devotion, enthusiasm, and spiritual fervour.
The event has become a significant moment for the local community, with many devotees viewing the temple’s establishment as a remarkable chapter connected with faith, tradition, and a prophecy that the family believes has been fulfilled after 30 years.
