IIE Digital Desk: From rasam to dal rice actor Deepika Padukone has impeccable food taste. In one of her earlier interviews, the actor shared her love for the Bhutanese dish - Ema Datshi which is a national dish of Bhutan.

To make ema datshi all you need is green chilli, garlic cloves and cheese.

Ingredients to make Ema Datshi

10-15 green chillies, sliced

4 cloves of garlic, minced

200g of cheese (you can use feta or any cheese of your choice), crumbled

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Salt to taste

Instructions to make Ema Datshi

Prepare the Green Chilies

Wash and slice the green chillies. Remove the seeds if you prefer a milder heat.

Saute Garlic

Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until it becomes aromatic.

Add Green Chilies

Add the sliced green chillies to the pan. Stir and sauté for a few minutes until the chillies are slightly softened.

Incorporate Cheese

Add the crumbled cheese to the pan. Stir gently to combine the cheese with the green chillies and garlic.

Melt Cheese

Allow the mixture to cook over low heat until the cheese melts and coats the green chilies and garlic. Stir occasionally to ensure even melting.

Adjust Seasoning

Season with salt according to your taste. Remember that the cheese may already have some saltiness, so taste before adding too much salt.

Serve

Once the cheese has melted and the dish has a creamy consistency, remove it from the heat.

Enjoy

Serve your Green Chili and Garlic Ema Datshi as a side dish with rice or bread. Enjoy the delightful combination of spice and cheesy goodness!
