IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Patna, June 6: The fresh twist has emerged in the case filed against popular educator and coaching institute operator Khan Sir under charges including attempt to murder and various sections of the Arms Act. On Saturday, his lawyer Arvind Kumar Mavvar alleged that the FIR was lodged out of vendetta and that efforts were being made to falsely implicate Khan Sir in the matter.
The lawyer, employees of Khan Sir’s institution had filed a complaint on June 2 against the director of another coaching institute. He claimed that the present FIR was filed in retaliation to that complaint. “The security guards fired warning shots purely for security reasons. No one was injured in the incident. However, Khan Sir’s name has been deliberately inserted into the FIR narrative as part of a planned attempt to defame and frame him,” Mavvar said.
The controversy stems from an incident that took place on the night of June 2 outside the Khan Global Studies Institute in the Musallahpur area of Patna. According to allegations, a group of miscreants attacked the coaching centre, hurled stones, and vandalized property. Following the incident, police launched an investigation.
Police sources said that the case was registered at Kadamkuan Police Station based on statements provided by Khan Sir’s security personnel. Investigators claim that the guards stated they had been instructed to open fire and were assured that any consequences arising from the situation would later be handled. Based on these allegations, a case was registered under multiple sections of the Arms Act as well as charges related to attempt to murder.
The course of the investigation, police also obtained video footage that allegedly shows firing outside the coaching institute. Two security guards employed by Khan Sir have already been arrested in connection with the incident. One of them reportedly claimed that he opened fire after receiving instructions. Investigators are currently verifying the authenticity of that statement.
Connection with the attack and firing outside Khan Sir’s coaching centre, police have already arrested Roshan Anand, director of Gyanbindu Coaching, and sent him to judicial custody. A total of five individuals have been arrested in the case so far.
Heavy police deployment was seen outside Khan Sir’s coaching institute from Friday evening amid speculation that he could be arrested.
Police have stated that further legal action will be taken only after examining video footage, eyewitness testimonies, and other technical evidence. Considering the sensitive nature of the case, investigators have said they do not wish to arrive at any conclusion without thoroughly verifying all available facts and evidence.
