Shortly thereafter, Vaishnaw boarded the metro and traveled along with commuters, many of whom praised the quality and efficiency of the metro services.

From the metro station, Vaishnaw traveled to Pramodnagar by auto-rickshaw before proceeding to Nabanna from there.
Ashwini Vaishnaw said that plans are underway to further modernize and expand the Kolkata Metro system. He announced that nearly 60 new-generation metro trains are planned to be introduced over the next four to five years, which he said would give Kolkata a new momentum in urban transportation.
