IIE DIGITAL DESK : The All India Trinamool Congress. Allegations and blame games have begun emerging, with some party members targeting Abhishek Banerjee and election strategists, while others have openly criticized party supremo Mamata Banerjee.

Friday with defeated party candidates, Mamata Banerjee expressed visible displeasure over public criticism from within the party ranks. She questioned why concerns were not raised internally earlier and cautioned leaders to be mindful of their statements. She emphasized that any grievances should be discussed within the party framework and assured that appropriate action would be taken where necessary.

Delivering a strong message to party workers and leaders, the former Chief Minister stated that those who wish to leave are free to do so, adding that only those who remain will prove to be “pure gold.” She made it clear that she would personally oversee party affairs and rebuild the organization from the ground up.

Sources indicate that most of the defeated candidates attended the meeting. However, some prominent faces such as Firdousi Begum, Aditi Munshi, and Debangshu Bhattacharya were absent. Debangshu had reportedly attended an IT cell meeting at Kalighat a few days earlier. At Friday’s gathering, Mamata Banerjee delivered the keynote address, with Abhishek Banerjee also present.

Mamata informed party candidates that a meeting with members of the party’s legal cell was scheduled for Saturday. The legal team will examine all cases related to post-poll violence. Candidates have been instructed to submit detailed lists of individuals in their constituencies who have allegedly faced violence or been displaced following the elections.

She also laid out an organizational roadmap, directing leaders to repair and repaint damaged party offices. In a symbolic gesture, Mamata declared that she would personally repaint her own party office. Additionally, she instructed local units to organize small meetings and rallies wherever feasible to reconnect with grassroots supporters.

The leadership emphasized strengthening public outreach efforts, maintaining close contact with ordinary citizens, and standing firmly beside party workers. Clear instructions were given to ensure that grassroots cadres feel supported and protected during this turbulent phase.

The meeting underscored the beginning of a rebuilding exercise within the Trinamool Congress, as the party seeks to regain stability and reinforce unity after a challenging electoral outcome.
