
Darjeeling, she was accompanied by MP Raju Bista, and the two leaders inspected several areas to assess the progress of various development initiatives.
The minister specifically reviewed water supply projects, drinking water distribution systems, and other civic infrastructure works in the region. She also visited a newly under-construction lake in Darjeeling, which is being developed as part of a water conservation initiative aimed at improving long-term water management in the hills.
Agnimitra Paul listened to grievances related to drinking water shortages and other basic civic issues. She assured the residents that the government is taking steps to resolve these problems on a priority basis.
Later, upon reaching Mirik, she was welcomed by local residents and officials. She reviewed the situation in the area and held discussions with administrative authorities regarding the progress of ongoing development work.
Agnimitra Paul stated that special emphasis is being placed on resolving drinking water issues in the Darjeeling hills at the earliest. She also warned that any illegal construction or unauthorized multi-storey buildings found in the hill areas would be identified and issued notices, and strict legal action, including demolition if necessary, would be taken against violations of regulations.
