
IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Falta, May 19: The May 21 assembly elections in Falta, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari embarked on a high-intensity campaign on Tuesday. Arriving around 11:45 a.m., the Chief Minister began a long march from Kalitala Maidan near Hasimnagar in Bangnagar II Panchayat. The event intensified political fervor in the area, drawing large crowds and supporters.
Suvendu Adhikari performed a ritual at a local temple and later greeted the crowd while riding in an open-top vehicle. BJP workers and supporters lined both sides of the road, waving party flags, chanting slogans, and showering flowers. A massive police deployment ensured security throughout the march.
Chief Minister Adhikari made significant political announcements. He declared that after the upcoming elections, one member from the families of the 321 BJP workers killed in political violence would be given a government job. In addition, he announced a special financial and social rehabilitation package for BJP workers who were affected in Falta and Diamond Harbour.
Political analysts suggest that this high-profile campaign aims to influence both emotions and organizational strength among voters ahead of the elections. By addressing the concerns of affected families and promising concrete support, the BJP leadership is attempting to consolidate its voter base and send a strong political message in the constituency.
