A brief spell of relief arrived late on Sunday night when parts of Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula received rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. The showers helped reduce the severity of the heat and brought temporary comfort from the oppressive and humid weather conditions. However, meteorologists have indicated that the respite may not last long as hot and humid conditions are expected to continue over the coming days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather pattern in the region is likely to remain warm and humid for the next few days. The forecast suggests that the sky will remain partly cloudy until Wednesday, with chances of scattered rainfall at isolated places. However, no weather alert has been issued from Thursday onwards, indicating that stable and comparatively dry conditions are expected to prevail across northwestern India.
Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula, the maximum temperature during the next five days is likely to remain between 36 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to hover between 25 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius. The combination of high temperatures and moisture in the atmosphere is expected to keep the discomfort levels elevated, with residents continuing to face the prolonged impact of the summer heat despite occasional rainfall.
