Robert Vadra, who is also known as the brother-in-law of senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, personally appeared before the court during the proceedings. Speaking briefly to reporters outside the courtroom, Vadra maintained that he had nothing to hide and reiterated his faith in India’s judicial system despite criticizing the functioning of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The media, Vadra said he trusted the judiciary of the country and believed that the truth would ultimately prevail. At the same time, he alleged that the Enforcement Directorate was acting under the influence of the government and claimed that the agency continued to function according to political directions. He described the situation as unfair from the ED’s side but asserted that he remained fully cooperative with the investigation process.
Vadra stated that he had always complied with legal procedures and would continue to answer all questions raised by the authorities. Emphasizing that he had no intention of evading the investigation, he said he would remain available whenever required and complete all formalities related to the case. According to him, there was nothing to conceal and therefore no reason to fear the legal process.
During his remarks, Vadra also referred to the political atmosphere surrounding the case and suggested that repeated scrutiny of him and his family was linked to their political relevance. He remarked that if his family continued to receive public support and political success, such challenges would naturally continue to arise. However, he asserted that he possessed the strength to face such situations fearlessly.
The Shikohpur land deal case has remained under investigation for several years and pertains to allegations involving questionable land transactions in Haryana. The Enforcement Directorate has been examining possible financial irregularities and suspected money laundering linked to the deal. Vadra has repeatedly denied all allegations in the matter.
The case continues to attract political attention due to Vadra’s association with the Gandhi family and the Congress party. With the next hearing scheduled for July 10, legal proceedings in the high-profile matter are expected to continue under close public and political scrutiny.
