IIE DIGITAL DESK : New Delhi, May 23: The 19th edition of the nationwide Rozgar Mela was organised across 47 locations in the country on Saturday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually participating in the programme. Addressing the event, the Prime Minister said that India is rapidly moving forward as a nation of innovation and emerging as a major global force in multiple sectors including construction, technology, defence, shipping, aviation, and space.

Narendra Modi stated that India’s semiconductor industry is expected to play a major role globally, with the country’s 10 major semiconductor units likely to strengthen India’s position in the world market. He said that employment opportunities are steadily increasing across the nation and highlighted growing opportunities in shipbuilding, ship repair, and the aviation sector. According to the Prime Minister, the younger generation will increasingly find quality employment opportunities within the country itself.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of skill development and said the government is placing strong emphasis on preparing the youth for future industries and technologies. He further said that over the last 12 years, India has witnessed massive expansion in railway infrastructure, highways, and logistics networks, helping reduce the gap between rural and urban regions. He added that electricity has already reached crores of households across the country, improving the quality of life for millions.

Narendra Modi also spoke about the rapid rise of entrepreneurship and self-employment in India. According to him, a completely new culture of startups and innovation has developed in the country over the past few years. He said that India has now become the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, with more than 2,30,000 recognised startups operating across various sectors.

The Prime Minister emphasised that this transformation is no longer limited to metropolitan cities, as young people from tier-two and smaller cities are also proving their capabilities and emerging as entrepreneurs and innovators. He further noted that the role of women in this transformation is continuously increasing, with women contributing significantly to India’s growing startup and business ecosystem.

The Prime Minister’s remarks at the Rozgar Mela highlighted the government’s focus on employment generation, infrastructure expansion, innovation, and skill development as key pillars of India’s economic and industrial growth strategy.
