IIE DIGITAL DESK ;  May 9: Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is reportedly preparing its next-generation flagship lineup, with early IMEI database listings revealing the existence of the upcoming Vivo X500 series, which is expected to include multiple models including the X500, X500 Pro, and a new X500e variant.

The Vivo X500 series has surfaced in GSMA certification records, suggesting that development is already in advanced stages ahead of launch. The lineup is expected to succeed the existing X300 series and may represent a significant upgrade in Vivo’s premium smartphone portfolio.

Reports indicate that the new series could feature at least three models: Vivo X500 as the base flagship, Vivo X500 Pro as the top-tier premium variant, and Vivo X500e as a more affordable or region-specific option. The inclusion of the X500e is particularly notable as it appears to be a newly introduced model in the X-series lineup.

Early leaks suggest that Vivo may skip the X400 naming convention and move directly from X300 to X500, a decision reportedly influenced by cultural naming preferences in some Asian markets.

The standard Vivo X500 is expected to feature a compact flagship design with a display around 6.3 to 6.4 inches, while the X500 Pro may come with a larger 6.8 to 6.9-inch 2K LTPO OLED display aimed at power users and multimedia consumption.

Camera technology is expected to be a major highlight of the series, with leaks pointing to a 50MP LOFIC primary sensor and a high-resolution periscope telephoto lens, possibly up to 200MP on the Pro model, designed to significantly improve zoom photography and low-light performance.

Battery capacity is also expected to see a major jump, with reports suggesting the use of 7000mAh or higher batteries across the lineup, making the X500 series one of the most endurance-focused flagship smartphones in the market.

The Vivo X500e, meanwhile, is expected to serve as a more budget-friendly alternative within the flagship ecosystem, potentially targeting users who want premium features at a more accessible price point or in select regional markets.

Vivo has not officially confirmed the X500 series, leaks and certification listings strongly suggest that the company is preparing for a major flagship launch cycle, likely expected in late 2026, with a focus on camera innovation, performance upgrades, and extended battery life.
