Vivo S2 FE launch India

IIE DIGITAL DESK ; New Delhi, October 6: Vivo has officially launched its latest mid-range 5G smartphone, the Vivo S2 FE, in India. The new handset comes with a major highlight that is likely to attract users who prioritise battery life, along with a 120Hz AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e 5G processor and a 50-megapixel Sony primary camera.

The Vivo S2 FE has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 38,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The higher-end 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 42,999. The smartphone will be available in Stellar Green, Zen White and Titan Black colour options. Sales are scheduled to begin from October 20 through Flipkart, Vivo India's online store and other retail channels.

One of the biggest talking points of the Vivo S2 FE is its massive 10,000mAh battery. The phone supports 44W wired fast charging and Vivo claims that the battery can deliver up to 68 hours of calling time and as much as 30 hours of TikTok playback on a single charge. For users who spend long hours watching videos, browsing social media or using their smartphones for work and entertainment, the large battery could be one of the phone's strongest selling points.

The smartphone features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,260 x 2,800 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and offers up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness in High Brightness Mode. With a pixel density of 449ppi, the display is designed to offer sharper visuals and smoother scrolling, making it suitable for video streaming, gaming and everyday smartphone use.

Under the hood, the Vivo S2 FE is powered by the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300e 5G chipset. The phone comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. It runs Vivo's OriginOS 6, based on Android 16, bringing the latest Android platform to the handset.

In the camera department, the Vivo S2 FE features a dual rear camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 primary sensor accompanied by a 2-megapixel secondary bokeh camera. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone comes with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The combination is aimed at users who want a capable camera setup for everyday photography and social media content.

Durability is another notable feature of the new Vivo smartphone. The S2 FE carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It also features a 3,800-square-millimetre vapour chamber designed to help manage heat during extended use and demanding workloads.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C and OTG, along with GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS support. The device also comes with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, e-compass and gyroscope.

The Vivo S2 FE measures 163.9 x 76.5 x 8.69mm and weighs around 225 grams. While the large battery adds to the overall weight, it also gives the phone a significant advantage for consumers looking for longer usage between charges.

The launch of the Vivo S2 FE expands the company's S-series portfolio in India and places the new handset in a competitive mid-range 5G segment. With its combination of a large 10,000mAh battery, 120Hz AMOLED display, 5G chipset, 50-megapixel Sony camera and Android 16-based software, Vivo is clearly positioning the S2 FE as a feature-rich smartphone for consumers looking for a balance between performance, display quality and battery endurance.

With the phone going on sale from October 20, attention will now be on how the Vivo S2 FE performs against other smartphones in the same price segment and whether its unusually large battery becomes its biggest selling point among Indian consumers.
