
IIE DIGITAL DESK : April 22: Motorola has officially launched its latest premium mid-range smartphone, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro in India, expanding its Edge series with a focus on performance, display quality, and long battery life. The device has been positioned as a feature-rich offering in the competitive upper mid-range segment, combining powerful hardware with a refined design approach.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, aiming to deliver smooth multitasking and gaming performance. Running on Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UI, the device also promises long-term software support with multiple OS upgrades and extended security patches.
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro features a 6.8-inch 1.5K pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and extremely high peak brightness levels. The panel also carries Pantone validation for accurate color reproduction, making it suitable for multimedia consumption and gaming. The phone is further protected by Gorilla Glass and comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings along with military-grade durability certification.
Photography is a key highlight of the device, which includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. A 50-megapixel front camera ensures high-resolution selfies and supports 4K video recording. The camera system is enhanced with AI-based imaging features designed to improve low-light performance and image clarity.
Battery life is another major strength of the Edge 70 Pro, as it houses a large 6,500mAh battery supported by 90W fast charging. The company claims the device can deliver extended usage time while charging rapidly, making it suitable for heavy users and gamers.
The smartphone also includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, advanced connectivity features such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC, along with a slim and premium design available in multiple Pantone-inspired color options.
India, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro has been priced starting at ₹38,999 for the base variant, with higher configurations available at a slightly increased cost. The device will be available through major online and offline retail channels, including Flipkart and Motorola’s official stores.
