IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Reliance Jio has completed 10 years in the Indian telecom market and the company is marking the milestone with a special offer for its customers. Under the new promotional scheme, customers purchasing a JioBharat 4G feature phone and making their first recharge can enjoy voice calling and data services for six months. The offer is also aimed at existing 2G feature phone users who are looking to move to Jio's 4G network.

According to the company, customers who purchase any of the eligible JioBharat 4G models, including the A1, B1, B2 or B3, can avail themselves of six months of service under the offer. However, the promotional offer is available only until October 20, which falls on Dussehra.

The JioBharat phone is priced at ₹1,499. Along with the device, customers can access a six month service benefit after completing the required recharge. The package includes 14GB of data every month, unlimited voice calling and 300 SMS messages per month.

For customers who are still using 2G feature phones and normally spend ₹199 every month on recharge, Jio has introduced another option. Instead of continuing with the monthly recharge, eligible users can pay ₹1,200 at one go for six months. Along with data, calling and SMS benefits, the package also includes access to JioTV and JioHotstar. Customers can also use JioPay as part of the available services.

The offer is particularly targeted at feature phone users who have continued to rely on 2G services. By combining an affordable 4G feature phone with voice, data and entertainment benefits, Jio is looking to make the transition from 2G to 4G more attractive for such customers.

For those planning to purchase a JioBharat phone, the handset can be bought through both online and offline channels. After purchasing the phone for ₹1,499, customers need to complete the specified ₹123 recharge. Once the recharge is completed, the customer can use the eligible services for six months without making another recharge during the offer period.

There is, however, an important condition that customers need to remember. The SIM card used for the qualifying recharge must remain in the JioBharat phone. Customers therefore need to ensure that the same SIM is inserted into the device to continue receiving the benefits under the promotional offer.

The offer comes as Jio marks a decade since entering India's telecom sector. Over the years, the company has expanded its services beyond traditional mobile connectivity, with offerings across digital entertainment, payments and other consumer services.

For feature phone users, particularly those still dependent on 2G networks, the six month service package could provide an opportunity to shift to a 4G device while receiving calling, data and messaging benefits along with access to Jio's digital services.

Customers interested in the offer will need to act before October 20, as the promotional benefit is linked to the Dussehra deadline. The exact availability of individual phone models and the applicable terms may also depend on the company's sales channels and offer conditions.
