IIE DIGITAL DESK : April 21: POCO has unveiled its latest 5G-capable smartphone, the POCO M8s 5G, in select global markets, marking another budget-friendly addition to its popular M-series lineup. The handset will be available for purchase online through the official Xiaomi store and comes in two colour options with multiple storage configurations. 

The POCO M8s 5G sports a large 6.9-inch Full HD+ display that supports a high 144 Hz refresh rate, making scrolling and animations smoother for everyday use. The expansive screen also features advanced touch technology and certifications for reduced eye strain. Powering the device is the efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, paired with ample RAM and storage options, delivering solid performance for daily tasks and 5G connectivity across compatible networks. 

Photography on the M8s 5G is anchored by a 50-megapixel AI-enhanced dual-camera system on the back, designed to capture detailed images, alongside an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. Advanced creative tools and AI features are included to enhance photo-editing and media creation experiences.

One of the standout features of the POCO M8s 5G is its massive 7,000 mAh battery, which can easily last through more than a day of heavy usage and supports 33 W fast charging. In addition, 18 W reverse charging allows the phone to act as a portable power source for other devices when needed.

The smartphone runs on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, offering a modern user interface with enhanced AI capabilities and long-term software support. It also carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, helping protect the device against the elements in daily use.
