The oath-taking ceremony will also include his council of ministers, marking the formation of the new BJP-led NDA government in the state.
The venue for the ceremony, Khanapara Veterinary College Field in Guwahati, has been extensively decorated and transformed to host the high-profile event. Large-scale preparations have been completed, including stage setup, seating arrangements, and overall infrastructure to accommodate a massive gathering. Security has been significantly tightened, with deployment of state police and central security forces across the venue and surrounding areas. Multiple barricades and security checkpoints have been installed to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
Earlier in the day, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and the Guwahati Police Commissioner, along with senior officials, inspected the venue to review preparations for the ceremony.
The event is expected to witness the presence of senior BJP leaders from the national and state levels, representatives of NDA alliance partners, top administrative officials, and lakhs of party workers and supporters from across Assam.
This will mark Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s second consecutive term as Chief Minister, following the BJP-led alliance’s decisive victory in the recent assembly elections. The formation of the new government comes after Sarma met the state Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and formally staked claim to form the government in Assam.

The notification, signed by Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota, has been circulated to constitutional authorities, senior administrative officials, and relevant departments for necessary action.
