South Bengal continues to receive scattered rainfall, the region is still facing a deficit in monsoon rain. In contrast, North Bengal has been experiencing severe weather conditions over the past several weeks. The weather department has issued an alert for the northern districts, warning that the ongoing spell of heavy rainfall and adverse weather may continue until Saturday.
The monsoon has already entered West Bengal and has brought rainfall to different parts of the state. However, the distribution of rainfall has remained uneven, with South Bengal receiving less rain than expected. Due to intermittent thunderstorms and showers in both North and South Bengal, there is no possibility of any major change in temperature in the coming days.
Meteorologists have predicted that temperatures across the state are likely to remain almost unchanged over the next seven days. On Monday morning, Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 25.0 degrees Celsius, which was 1.8 degrees below the normal temperature for this time of the year.
The continuing contrast between the rainfall situation in North and South Bengal has raised concerns among residents and authorities, with heavy rain warnings remaining in place for the northern districts while southern parts of the state continue to await a stronger and more consistent monsoon spell.
