IIE Digital Desk : Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut recently expressed her outrage over a viral video depicting the desecration of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's statue in Bangladesh. The video, which has not been independently verified, shows an individual urinating on the statue of the nation's founding father, sparking widespread condemnation.

Kangana took to Instagram to share her dismay, stating, "Bangladeshis are urinating on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's statue, the very leader who led their country to independence. What kind of protest is this?" She continued by reflecting on Mujibur Rahman's significant contributions to Bangladesh's freedom and questioned why such disrespect was shown towards his legacy. The actress also criticized ongoing violent protests in Bangladesh, highlighting recent acts of brutality against animals in zoos. She urged people to consider the implications of such violent behavior, emphasizing that those capable of such acts towards animals might do worse to humans.

This incident follows a period of political turmoil in Bangladesh, which saw Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resign and leave for India amidst intense student protests demanding quota reforms. The unrest has not subsided, leading to further acts of violence and vandalism, including the desecration of national symbols like Mujibur Rahman's statue.
