IIE Digital Desk : Sources have revealed that the makers of the upcoming Bengali film "Kabuliwala", starring Mithun Chakraborty, are planning to shoot a few scenes in Kargil. The film is based on a short story by Rabindranath Tagore of the same name. It tells the story of a peddler from Kabul who befriends a young girl in Kolkata.
The makers of the film are reportedly looking for a location that can replicate the scenic beauty of Kargil. They are also considering shooting some of the action sequences in the region. If the plan materializes, it will be the first time that a major Bengali film will be shot in Kargil. The film is currently in the pre-production stage and is expected to go on floors later this year. The film is being directed by Arindam Sil and produced by Surinder Films.
