West Bengal (July 06,2023) : The West Bengal Education Department has started the process of recovering the extra salary that was paid to head teachers in the state. The audit department found that head teachers in several districts were paid extra salary for additional responsibilities that they did not actually perform. The education department has issued notices to the head teachers asking them to return the extra salary. The head teachers have been given 15 days to respond to the notices. If the head teachers do not return the extra salary, the education department will take legal action against them.

The recovery of the extra salary is a major embarrassment for the West Bengal government.
