Darjeeling (July 05,2023) : The police in North Dinajpur district on Wednesday arrested one person and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition. The accused, identified as Md. Sahadat Ali, was arrested from his house in Goalpokhar police station area. The police recovered four 7.65 mm pistols, two one-shotter pipe guns, 100 rounds of live cartridges and two magazines from his possession.

The police said that they had received a tip-off about Ali's possession of illegal arms and ammunition. A raid was conducted at his house, and the weapons were recovered. Ali has been booked under the Arms Act, and he is being interrogated by the police. The recovery of arms and ammunition is a major success for the police in North Dinajpur district. It is a reminder that the police are working hard to keep the district safe from criminals.
