The complaint, filed by local resident Kamalakanta Laha, alleged harassment during a video shoot in the area. On August 14, Kamalakanta Laha, a resident of Subhaspalli in Santiniketan, lodged a written complaint at the Santiniketan police station. Laha, a musical instrument maker, reported that he was en route to his workplace when he encountered a roadblock due to a video shoot by Arijit Singh. He alleged that when he attempted to pass through, he was physically restrained and placed into a police vehicle by the singer's security personnel. Laha further claimed that during the altercation, his gold ring was lost.
