Mamata Banerjee to Visit Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee in Hospital

West Bengal (July 31,2023) : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to visit former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at the hospital on Monday. Bhattacharjee, 83, is undergoing treatment at the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata for respiratory problems. Banerjee will be visiting Bhattacharjee at around 11 am. She is expected to inquire about his health and offer her support.

Bhattacharjee, who was the chief minister of West Bengal from 2000 to 2011, has been in and out of hospital for the past few months. He was admitted to the SSKM Hospital in March after he complained of breathlessness. He was discharged from the hospital after a few days, but he was readmitted in May after his condition deteriorated. Banerjee and Bhattacharjee have been political rivals in the past, but they have also been close friends. Banerjee has visited Bhattacharjee in hospital several times in the past few months.
