IIE DIGITAL DESK ; July 30 : Vivo is preparing to make a significant comeback in India's premium smartphone segment with the launch of the Vivo S2 5G, marking the return of the company's S-series lineup after nearly six years. Although Vivo is yet to announce an official launch date, a series of fresh leaks has revealed the smartphone's colour options, dimensions, expected pricing, and complete specifications, offering a comprehensive look at the upcoming handset ahead of its debut.

According to industry sources, the Vivo S2 5G is being positioned as a lifestyle-focused smartphone designed primarily for younger consumers who value premium design, advanced display technology, and long battery life. The smartphone is expected to feature an elegant build with slim bezels and a curved display, delivering an immersive edge-to-edge viewing experience.

The latest leak suggests that the Vivo S2 5G will be available in three attractive colour options—Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White. Each variant is expected to feature a matte-finish rear panel, giving the device a premium appearance while reducing fingerprint smudges.

The smartphone will also differ slightly in thickness and weight depending on the colour variant. The Silk White version is reportedly 8.10mm thick and weighs approximately 199 grams, while the Sapphire Blue and Regal Bronze variants are expected to measure 7.99mm in thickness and weigh around 197 grams, making them slightly slimmer and lighter.

In another major leak, tipster PassionateGeekz has revealed the handset's expected pricing for the Indian market. According to the report, the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the Vivo S2 5G could be priced at Rs. 51,999, while the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model may retail for Rs. 55,999.

The tipster clarified that these figures represent the expected retail prices before the application of any launch offers, exchange bonuses, or bank discounts that Vivo may introduce at the time of release.

On the display front, the Vivo S2 5G is expected to feature a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, promising smooth scrolling, responsive gaming, and an enhanced multimedia viewing experience. Earlier reports had indicated that the phone could arrive with a 3D curved AMOLED panel, further reinforcing its premium positioning.

Under the hood, the smartphone is now tipped to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and storage options of up to 256GB. This marks a notable shift from previous rumours that suggested Vivo would equip the handset with Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.

For photography, the latest leak points to a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. This differs from earlier reports that had suggested the phone would include an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, indicating that Vivo may have altered the camera configuration before launch.

On the front, the smartphone is expected to feature a 32-megapixel selfie camera, offering high-resolution selfies and improved video calling capabilities.

The Vivo S2 5G is also expected to offer enhanced durability with IP68 and IP69 certifications, providing protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets. These ratings place the handset among the more rugged smartphones in its segment despite its slim profile.

Battery performance appears to be another major highlight of the device. The smartphone is tipped to house a substantial 7,050mAh battery, capable of delivering extended usage for gaming, streaming, and productivity tasks. It is expected to support 44W FlashCharge technology, enabling faster charging while also offering reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge compatible accessories or other smartphones.

Leaked images of a dummy unit also provide a glimpse of the phone's design. The rear panel features a slightly raised, pill-shaped horizontal camera module positioned at the top. Two camera sensors are arranged vertically on the left side of the module, while a circular element on the right appears to function as a light ring, adding a distinctive visual identity to the device.

With its premium curved AMOLED display, large battery, modern design, durable build, and competitive hardware, the Vivo S2 5G is shaping up to be one of Vivo's most significant smartphone launches in India this year. While the company has yet to officially confirm the specifications or launch date, the latest leaks indicate that the handset is likely to compete in the upper mid-range smartphone segment and target consumers seeking flagship-inspired features at a comparatively accessible price.
