IIE Digital Desk : The Sun has blasted another solar flare at Earth, prompting a geomagnetic storm warning. The flare, which was classified as an X2-class flare, is the second X-class flare in a week.  An X2-class flare is a powerful solar flare that is 10 times stronger than a typical solar flare. It is capable of causing a G1-class geomagnetic storm, which is the weakest type of geomagnetic storm.

Geomagnetic storms are caused by the interaction of solar wind with Earth's magnetic field. The solar wind is a stream of charged particles that is emitted from the Sun. When the solar wind interacts with Earth's magnetic field, it can cause the field to fluctuate. This can disrupt power grids, satellites, and other infrastructure.

The G1-class geomagnetic storm that is expected from the latest solar flare is not expected to cause any major disruptions. However, it could cause some minor disruptions to power grids and satellites.
