Ahead of the official launch, Poco has already revealed several key details about the upcoming handset. The company has confirmed that the Poco M8 Power will come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, a 120Hz display, and a large-capacity battery designed for extended usage.
The Poco M8 Power is scheduled to launch in India on August 4 at 12 PM IST. The smartphone will be available for purchase through Flipkart, with the e-commerce platform already creating a dedicated microsite highlighting the phone’s design and major features.
Although Poco has not officially announced the India pricing of the M8 Power, reports suggest that the smartphone could be positioned in the mid-range segment. Considering its specifications and the pricing strategy of previous M-series devices, the Poco M8 Power is expected to be priced around Rs. 25,000 in India.
For comparison, the previously launched Poco M8 was introduced in January with a starting price of Rs. 18,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant was launched at Rs. 19,999, while the top-end 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version was priced at Rs. 21,999.
The company has also confirmed the colour options of the upcoming smartphone. The Poco M8 Power will be available in Black and Silver colour variants, while promotional materials have also hinted at an additional Orange colour option.
The smartphone will come with a 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, providing enhanced colour accuracy and a better viewing experience. It will also offer up to 1,800 nits peak brightness, making the screen easier to view under bright outdoor conditions.
For eye comfort, the handset will include features such as 960Hz PWM plus DC dimming, adaptive colour temperature adjustment, and OTT-optimised tuning. The device will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure biometric authentication.
The company claims that the smartphone has achieved more than 6,30,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform, highlighting its performance capabilities. The chipset will reportedly be paired with 8GB RAM, along with support for virtual RAM expansion of up to an additional 8GB.
To maintain performance during heavy usage, Poco will equip the device with a vapour chamber cooling system. The smartphone will feature a large 10,416 square millimetre graphite heat dissipation area to manage heat during gaming and intensive tasks.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphone is expected to include an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The camera setup is likely to focus on delivering clear images and improved video communication.
The smartphone is expected to offer impressive endurance figures, including up to 28 hours of video playback, 31 hours of social media usage, 14 hours of gaming, 11 hours of navigation, and up to 38 hours of standby time.
The Poco M8 Power will support 45W wired fast charging, allowing users to recharge the large battery quickly. It will also include 22.5W wired reverse charging, enabling the phone to charge other compatible devices.
With a powerful processor, premium display, large battery capacity, and advanced cooling technology, the Poco M8 Power is expected to be one of the major mid-range smartphone launches in India. The official pricing and complete details will be revealed at the launch event on August 4.
