IIE DIGITAL DESK : Officially announced the launch date of its upcoming budget 5G smartphone, the Poco C85x 5G, in India. The company revealed that the device will make its debut on March 10, generating excitement among smartphone enthusiasts who are eagerly awaiting the next addition to Poco’s popular C-series lineup. Ahead of the launch, the company has also unveiled the design of the smartphone through a dedicated microsite on the e-commerce platform Flipkart.

The newly updated microsite offers the first glimpse of the phone’s rear design, showcasing a stylish dual-tone finish that adds a fresh aesthetic to Poco’s budget smartphone range. The device features the Poco branding positioned on the bottom-left corner of the rear panel, while the camera setup sits inside a pill-shaped camera module. The smartphone is expected to arrive in a striking gold colour option, though additional variants may be revealed closer to the launch.

The rear camera module houses a dual-camera setup accompanied by an LED flash positioned alongside the camera island. On the right edge of the handset, users will find the power button and volume controls, following a familiar and practical layout seen on many modern smartphones. While the full list of specifications has not yet been officially confirmed, Poco’s promotional material hints that the handset will feature a large battery designed to deliver extended usage.

The upcoming Poco C85x 5G will follow the launch of its predecessor, the Poco C85 5G, which debuted in India in December 2025. That device was introduced at a starting price of Rs. 12,499 for the base variant offering 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It remains available for purchase via Flipkart in Mystic Purple, Power Black, and Spring Green colour options.

The Poco C85 5G features a large 6.9-inch HD+ flat display with a resolution of 720 × 1600 pixels and supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, ensuring smoother scrolling and better visual performance. The screen can reach up to 810 nits of peak brightness, making it suitable for outdoor use. The device is powered by a 6nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, delivering efficient performance for everyday tasks and moderate gaming.

On the camera front, the Poco C85 5G carries a dual rear camera system led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It is also equipped with a massive 6,000mAh battery that supports 33W wired fast charging. The smartphone comes with an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, adding a layer of durability.

With the launch date approaching, more details about the Poco C85x 5G’s specifications, features, and pricing are expected to be revealed soon, making it one of the most anticipated budget 5G smartphones in the Indian market.
