IIE Digital Desk : Christophe Galtier, the new manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has been taken into police custody in Nice on Tuesday morning. The 55-year-old was arrested as part of an investigation into alleged match-fixing in Ligue 1.
Galtier was the manager of Nice from 2017 to 2021, and the investigation is reportedly focused on a match between Nice and Marseille in May 2019. Marseille won the match 3-2, but there have been allegations that Nice players deliberately threw the game.
Galtier has not been charged with any crime, and he is due to be released from police custody later today. However, his arrest is a major blow to PSG, who are already facing a number of other challenges this season.
