IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Noida, August 1: The 15-year-old girl who allegedly made objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during a protest organised by the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi has finally issued an apology through social media. The teenager, who lives in Sector 168 of Noida, released a video message on Saturday in which she folded her hands and apologised to the Prime Minister as well as the people of the country.

In the video message, the girl stated that she was present at the protest demonstration held at Jantar Mantar. She said that several people present at the gathering were making insulting remarks against the Prime Minister and that she also made some objectionable comments in an emotional moment. She admitted that her words were wrong and expressed regret over the incident.

The teenager said, “I am 15 years old. I made a serious mistake unintentionally and I apologise for it.” She requested forgiveness for her remarks and expressed remorse over hurting the sentiments of others.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also responded to the incident through social media. The Prime Minister conveyed that he forgives the teenager and all others who allegedly made inappropriate comments during the protest. He said that children can make mistakes due to their age and that society’s responsibility is not only to punish them but also to guide them towards the right path.

Prime Minister Modi further emphasized that young people should be encouraged to understand their mistakes and improve themselves rather than being pushed into difficult situations. He said that he had chosen to forgive the teenager considering her age and the circumstances.

The controversy began after an incident during a protest at Jantar Mantar, where the teenager allegedly used offensive and objectionable language against the Prime Minister and his late mother. The remarks triggered criticism on social media and led to a complaint being filed with the police.

On July 29, Smriti Singh, a resident of Ghaziabad, lodged a complaint at the Noida Expressway Police Station regarding the matter. In her complaint, she alleged that during the protest held at Jantar Mantar on July 30, the teenager had made highly objectionable comments against the Prime Minister and his late mother, which she claimed insulted the dignity of a constitutional office.

The complaint, the Expressway Police registered a Zero FIR and transferred the case to the Delhi Police for further investigation, as the alleged incident took place in the national capital. Authorities initiated the legal process after receiving the complaint and began examining the details related to the incident.

The matter gained significant attention due to the involvement of a minor and the remarks directed at the Prime Minister. However, after the teenager's public apology and the Prime Minister's decision to forgive her, the focus has shifted towards encouraging responsible expression, especially among young people, while maintaining respect for constitutional positions and public figures.
