Bengaluru (August 26,2023) : A 35-year-old Indian woman, who was living in Australia with her husband and two children, died by suicide after losing the custody of her children to her husband in a court battle. The woman, identified as Sneha, had moved to Australia with her husband and children in 2017. However, the couple had a troubled marriage and they separated in 2022. The woman filed for divorce and sought the custody of her children. However, the court granted the custody of the children to the husband.

The woman was reportedly devastated by the court's decision and she died by suicide a few days later. Her body was found in her apartment in Melbourne. The woman's death has sparked outrage in India and there have been calls for the government to take steps to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future. The Indian government has said that it is in touch with the Australian authorities and is providing all possible assistance to the woman's family.
