IIE DIGITAL DESK : The time when celebrity skincare routines pique more interest than ever, actress Kriti Sanon recently revealed a candid peek into her personal skincare rituals, underscored by a heartfelt anecdote about her sister. In an intimate feature by the Lifestyle Desk on August 13, 2025, she shared how the pandemic ignited a newfound skincare obsession—one rooted in consistency, nourishment, and mindful care.

Kriti begins by underlining the significance of routine, noting how the pandemic triggered a pivot toward wellness and self-care. “Skincare for me is actually very, very, very important. I have gotten majorly into skincare during the pandemic… I kind of realised that it really only works when you do a proper routine,” she confides.

Her daily regimen starts with a vitamin C serum in the mornings—a non-negotiable for brightening, hydrating, and enhancing SPF protection. She explains that vitamin C is “brightening, it’s got antioxidants, it’s hydrating, and Vitamin C also helps your SPF. So it’s actually very, very good.”

Once or twice a week, the doctor in her routine comes out. Kriti uses a creamy face mask when needed to revive dull skin before important shoots. Her tone suggests genuine frustration when her favourite mask goes missing—typically in the safe custody of her sister: “Nupur is in Jaipur right now, and she’s taken my favourite mask. Like always.”

Her approach to applying the mask is gentle and intuitive; she applies it with her hands, mindful of not applying harsh pressure. Afterwards, she delicately pats her face dry with a microfiber towel rather than rubbing—recognizing that damp skin better absorbs subsequent products.

Kriti remains firm on sunscreen: it’s “extremely important,” with sun damage hard to reverse over time. She prefers a moisturizing sunscreen rather than layering moisturizer and sun protection separately.

Her nighttime skincare is flexible, adapting to her skin’s needs and the day’s demands. “My night skincare routine is a little more complicated, and it changes with how my skin is feeling and what I’ve done the previous day,” she explains, indicating a customized, intuitive wind-down ritual.

Sharing the spotlight with a dermatologist’s advice, the article highlights expert warnings about over-scrubbing. Dr. Shikha Khare, Consultant Dermatologist at Yatharth Hospitals, cautions that overly enthusiastic scrubbing can inflame the skin, causing redness, burning, itching, or even scarring—especially for sensitive skin types.

Kriti Sanon’s skincare insight balances disciplined consistency with flexible self-care. Whether starting her day with an antioxidant boost, treating her skin with weekly masks, or winding down with a sleep-time ritual, she emphasizes gentle practices and sun protection. Her cheeky mention of a mask regularly taken by her sister adds warmth, reminding us that even stars share beauty woes—and that skincare truly can be an act of self-love.
