IIE Digital Desk: Another wave of severe storms attacked in a wide stretch of the United States and Canada, leading to flash floods and water rescues Wednesday in the Ozarks Mountains, dropping a tornado that destroyed a community in upstate New York and shipwreck drivers in high water around Toronto.

Hundrends of thousands of people had lost their power and air conditioning during days of scorching heat. As much as 11 inches (nearly 28 centimetres) of rain fell overnight into Wednesday on parts of the Ozarks in Arkansas and Missouri, the National Weather Service had said. Buses and ambulances displaced 86 people fro a nursing home in Yelleville, Arkansas, where water roses to about 1.2 Metres during flash flooding, Marion Country Sheriff Gregg Alexander had said. In the small city of Rome, New York, a tornado tattered off roofs, tipped over vehicles and turned several buildings into piles of remnant (:times  of india). The large bunch emerged from a derecho, long-lasting, windstorms that began in IOWA and rolled east for hours, according to Senior Meteorologist Brett Borchardt.

A cold front had forecast to cause scattered showers and thunderstorms in the East over the next few days but still they also provide relief from the heat in eastern and Central United States, according to the weather forecast. However, excessive heat were forecasted for  parts of the West and Southeast.
