Melbourne (July 06,2023) : A 21-year-old woman of Punjab origin was buried alive by her ex-boyfriend in Australia in an "act of revenge," a court has heard. Jasmeen Kaur was abducted from her workplace in Adelaide in March 2021 and driven to the Flinders Ranges, where she was buried in a shallow grave. Her ex-boyfriend, Tarikjot Singh, has pleaded guilty to her murder. The court heard that Singh was obsessed with Kaur and wanted to marry her, but she had broken up with him.

In the days leading up to her murder, Singh had been stalking Kaur and following her. On the day of the murder, he abducted her from her workplace and drove her to the Flinders Ranges. He then bound her with cable ties, gagged her, and buried her alive. Kaur was found dead two days later. The court heard that Singh had killed Kaur in an "act of revenge" for breaking up with him. He has been sentenced to life in prison.
