Rail Blockade in Baidyabati Station After Person Falls from Train
Baidyabati (July 14,2023) : A rail blockade was brought about in Baidyabati Station of the Howrah-Bardhaman main line on Friday after a person fell from a train. The incident took place around 11:30 AM, when the Howrah-bound Sealdah Local was passing through Baidyabati Station. A passenger, who was standing on the footboard of the train, lost his balance and fell off the train. The train was immediately stopped, and the passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
The incident caused a major disruption in train services on the Howrah-Bardhaman main line. Several trains were cancelled or diverted, and there were long delays on other trains. The rail blockade was lifted after around two hours, when the body of the deceased passenger was removed from the tracks. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
