IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Narendrapur, May 26: The fire broke out at a paint manufacturing factory in Ramchandrapur under Narendrapur police station limits in South 24 Parganas on Tuesday morning, triggering panic in the area and raising fears of extensive damage.
The factory, which is involved in the production of ink and related materials, stored a large quantity of chemical substances on the premises. Due to the presence of highly flammable chemicals, the fire spread rapidly within a short span of time, making containment efforts more challenging for emergency responders.
Fire and emergency services rushed to the spot, with four fire engines deployed to bring the blaze under control. Firefighters have been working continuously to douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures. The intensity of the fire has made operations difficult, though officials confirmed that the situation is gradually being brought under control.
Police have stated that, so far, there are no reports of casualties or injuries in the incident. However, significant property damage is feared due to the scale of the fire and the nature of materials stored inside the factory.
Authorities are continuing their efforts at the site, and an assessment of the total damage will be carried out once the fire is fully extinguished.
