Vivo X300 Ultra Set to Redefine Smartphone Photography With 200MP Dual Cameras and Advanced Periscope Stabilisation

IIE DIGITAL DESK : The upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra is already generating excitement in the smartphone industry after the company revealed key details about its advanced camera technology. The flagship handset was recently showcased at the global tech event Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, where company officials highlighted its cutting-edge imaging capabilities. With upgraded hardware and new imaging technologies, Vivo aims to push the boundaries of mobile photography and video recording.

According to Han Boxiao, Product Manager at Vivo, the smartphone will feature an advanced periscope telephoto camera system equipped with a 200-megapixel sensor. In a recent announcement, he confirmed that the device will include a fifth-generation Zeiss-engineered “Thanos” periscope telephoto camera, built around the powerful Samsung HP0 camera sensor. This advanced system is designed to deliver exceptional zoom performance while maintaining impressive clarity and stability.

One of the most remarkable upgrades in the Vivo X300 Ultra is its new stabilisation mechanism. The handset adopts a gimbal-style stabilisation concept, enabling the telephoto camera to achieve CIPA 7.0 professional-grade stabilisation, a benchmark usually associated with dedicated digital cameras rather than smartphones. The telephoto lens features a three-degree optical stabilisation range, which is significantly higher than traditional telephoto optical image stabilisation systems that typically operate within a 0.7-degree to 1-degree range.

The earlier Vivo X200 Ultra offered stabilisation of around 1.2 degrees. The new system therefore improves stabilisation performance by two to three times, allowing users to capture sharper photos and smoother videos even when shooting at long focal lengths. This technology is expected to be especially beneficial when using extended telephoto ranges such as 200mm or 400mm zoom, enabling stable handheld photography without requiring external equipment.

Another major highlight of the smartphone is its newly developed focus-tracking technology. Vivo has introduced what it calls a “Blueprint high-refresh focus tracking engine,” capable of capturing motion at 60 frames per second. This system is designed to track moving subjects more accurately, allowing the camera to maintain focus even in fast-paced environments such as sports events or wildlife photography. According to the company, the technology can effectively double motion-tracking performance compared to earlier systems, ensuring clearer results in dynamic scenes.

The smartphone will also feature a 200-megapixel primary camera using the Sony LYT-901 sensor, making the Vivo X300 Ultra the first flagship device to include dual 200-megapixel cameras. Along with the powerful sensors, the phone integrates Vivo’s BlueImage imaging technology, which promises improvements in colour accuracy, autofocus performance, HDR processing, and overall power efficiency.

During its showcase at Mobile World Congress 2026, the device was also displayed alongside a Zeiss telephoto extender kit, further emphasising Vivo’s ambition to transform smartphone cameras into professional-level imaging systems.

The Vivo X300 Ultra appears poised to set a new benchmark for flagship smartphone photography, blending advanced stabilisation, powerful sensors, and intelligent software to deliver a professional-grade imaging experience directly from a mobile device.
