IIE Digital Desk: After its successful launch in China and select global markets, the iQOO 12 has now officially debuted in India. This smartphone stands out as the first in the country to feature the cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, promising significant enhancements in performance and gaming experiences. Boasting an LTPO AMOLED display, storage options of up to 512GB, and running on the latest Android 14 OS, the iQOO 12 impresses with its 120W fast charging support and substantial 5,000mAh battery capacity. This launch marks a notable stride in bringing advanced technology and gaming capabilities to Indian consumers.

iQOO 12 price in India, sale

iQOO 12 price in India is Rs 52,999 for the 12GB + 256GB version and Rs 57,999 for the 16GB + 512GB model.

The company is offering a Rs 3,000 instant discount through an ICICI Bank card or customers can avail of an additional up to Rs 5,000 exchange bonus.

The handset comes in White and Black colour options and will be on sale via Amazon in the country.

Users who purchased the priority pass can buy the phone on December 13th at 12 PM IST, while the open sale will start on December 14th at 12 PM IST.

The company is offering a 6-month additional warranty and a 9-month no-cost EMI offer.

Display: iQOO 12 sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with 2800 × 1260 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, HDR10+, 144Hz variable refresh rate, up to 1400 nits brightness, 3000 nits peak brightness, 2160Hz PWM dimming and a punch-hole cutout.

Processor: The handset is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with Adreno GPU.

Besides the Snapdragon chip, the handset houses a dedicated Q1 chipset to improve the gaming experience and frame rates.

RAM/Storage: The chipset is paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

OS: The phone runs on Android 14-based OriginOS 4.0 custom skin out of the box.

Cameras: iQOO 12 features a 50MP Omnivision OV50H primary sensor with f/1.68 aperture, OIS, and LED flash, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle Samsung JN1 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, and a 64MP 3x telephoto camera with f/2.57 aperture, OIS, and up to 100x digital zoom. There is a dedicated V3 imaging chip. The phone houses a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.

iQOO 11 vs iQOO 12: Upgrades

iQOO 12 is a significant upgrade over the iqOO 11. Here are some of the notable improvements.

Firstly, we get the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, in place of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This should result in performance gains in addition to gaming, camera, and overall improvements.

The 13MP 2x telephoto lens is being replaced with a large 64MP 3x telephoto camera. This should result in better zoom photos and better quality ones too.

With the iQOO 12, we get a 512GB storage option in India as well.

As for connectivity, we get Wi-Fi 7 instead of Wi-Fi 6 on the iQOO 11, there is Bluetooth 5.4 instead of Bluetooth 5.3.
