IIE Digital Desk : Apple is reportedly planning to give the standard models of the iPhone 15 series a stacked CIS camera upgrade, while the Pro models will be left behind. This means that the standard models will have a stacked image sensor, which will allow for better low-light performance and faster autofocus. The stacked CIS camera is a new technology that is still in development, but it has the potential to significantly improve the performance of smartphone cameras. Apple is reportedly working with Sony to develop the stacked CIS camera for the iPhone 15 series.

The Pro models of the iPhone 15 series are not expected to get the stacked CIS camera upgrade. Instead, they are expected to get a new sensor-shift stabilization system. Sensor-shift stabilization is a more advanced stabilization system than optical image stabilization, and it can help to reduce camera shake even further. The iPhone 15 series is expected to be released in the fall of 2023. It is still too early to say for sure what features the phones will have, but the stacked CIS camera upgrade for the standard models is a significant development.
