PM Modi holds BJP parliamentary party meeting to discuss Manipur impasse
New Delhi (July 25,2023) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting of the BJP parliamentary party on Tuesday amid an impasse in Parliament over the issue of Manipur. The meeting was attended by the party's MPs, including Union ministers and chief ministers.
Sources said that Modi discussed the situation in Manipur with the party's MPs and asked them to be patient. He also urged them to cooperate with the government in ensuring that Parliament functions smoothly.
The BJP has been facing criticism from the opposition over the Manipur issue. The opposition has accused the BJP of trying to suppress the voice of the people of Manipur. The BJP has denied the allegations and has said that it is committed to the democratic process in Manipur.
