Panic on Train Leads to Tragic Deaths in Jharkhand
IIE Digital Desk : In a tragic incident in Jharkhand, a rumor about a fire on a moving train led to panic, causing several passengers to jump off in fear. The incident took place near Dhanbad on the Dhanbad-Gaya intercity express. Amid the chaos, two passengers lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported that the panic ensued when someone shouted about a fire in one of the compartments. Despite there being no visible flames or smoke, the rumor quickly spread, causing a stampede-like situation. Terrified passengers rushed to exit the train, with some opting to jump off while it was still in motion. Railway authorities and local police arrived promptly at the scene. Emergency services transported the injured to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has launched an investigation to determine the origin of the rumor and prevent such incidents in the future.
