Nusrat arrived at the CGO Complex in the morning hours and was accompanied by actor Yash Dasgupta. The two were seen entering the ED office premises without addressing the media gathered outside. Despite repeated questions from reporters, Nusrat refrained from making any public statement and proceeded directly into the building alongside Yash.
The summons relates to an alleged housing scam in which several homebuyers had accused a real estate firm of failing to hand over promised flats despite receiving payments. The Enforcement Directorate has been probing the financial aspects of the case, including alleged irregularities in fund utilization and possible violations under money laundering laws. Nusrat’s name had surfaced during the course of the investigation, prompting the agency to call her for questioning.
This is not the first time she has faced interrogation in the matter. In 2023, Nusrat was questioned by the ED for nearly six hours in connection with the same case. Following that round of questioning, she had categorically denied any wrongdoing and maintained that the allegations against her were baseless. She had asserted that she was not directly involved in the company’s financial operations and had distanced herself from the charges levelled by complainants.
Investigators are understood to be examining financial documents, transactions and statements linked to the case to ascertain whether there was any diversion or misrepresentation of funds collected from prospective buyers. The agency has been intensifying its scrutiny in recent months, questioning multiple individuals associated with the project.
The development has once again brought the controversy into the spotlight, given Nusrat’s dual public profile as a film personality and a former parliamentarian. Her appearance at the ED office drew considerable media attention, with visuals of her arrival circulating widely.
There has been no official statement from the Enforcement Directorate regarding the duration or outcome of Wednesday’s questioning. Sources indicated that the inquiry forms part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to piece together the financial trail in the alleged fraud case.
The investigation continues, all eyes remain on the next steps in the probe and whether further summons or legal action will follow. Nusrat, who has consistently denied the allegations, is yet to issue a fresh statement after her latest appearance before the central agency.
