Kolkata Gears Up with New CCTV Installations Post-Elections
IIE Digital Desk : Kolkata's Lalbazar police headquarters received approval to install 5,500 new CCTV cameras under the second phase of the Nirbhaya Project, funded by ₹39 crore. These high-resolution cameras will be placed around schools, colleges, religious sites, and key roadways, including the Bhangar area. Currently, Kolkata has over 3,500 CCTV cameras, but maintenance issues persist. The new installations, managed by the contracted company, aim to enhance city surveillance and safety.
