Abandon Municipal Pump House Roof Collapses, Young Man Killed in Kolkata
Kolkata (July 27,2023) : A young man was killed after the roof of an abandoned municipal pump house collapsed in Kolkata on Wednesday. The incident took place in the Girish Park area of the city. The man, identified as 22-year-old Sourav Das, was reportedly trying to enter the pump house when the roof collapsed. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The pump house is located in a densely populated area. The collapse has raised concerns about the safety of the structure. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has said that it will investigate the incident. The KMC has also said that it will take steps to ensure that the pump house is demolished safely.
