Canada (August 03,2023) : Justin and Sophie Trudeau have announced their separation after 18 years of marriage. The couple released a joint statement on Thursday, saying that they had made the decision "mutually and with love." "We will continue to be co-parents and co-workers, and we will continue to work together for the betterment of our children and our country," the statement said.

The Trudeaus have three children together: Xavier, 13, Ella-Grace, 10, and Hadrien, 7. Justin Trudeau has been Prime Minister of Canada since 2015. Sophie Trudeau is a former school teacher and a social advocate. The couple's separation comes as a surprise to many. They had always been seen as a strong and united couple.
