IIE Digital Desk : Tollywood actress Madhurima Basak is set to star in a new web series titled "Napita". The series will start streaming on a popular OTT platform in September this year. The series is directed by debutante Debangshu Mukherjee and produced by Surinder Films. It also stars Indrajit Mazumdar, Debdut Ghosh, and others in pivotal roles.
In the series, Madhurima will be seen playing the role of a woman who is struggling to make ends meet. She will be seen taking up a job as a napita (a traditional barber who shaves and cuts hair for women) to support her family. The series is expected to be a social drama that will explore the challenges faced by women in the workforce. It is also expected to be a commercial success, given Madhurima's popularity.
