In the scene, Ranveer Singh's character, Rocky, is seen wearing a T-shirt with the words "Rabindranath Tagore: The OG Gentac". The word "gentac" is a Bengali slang term that is often used to describe someone who is flashy or over-the-top.
Some social media users have accused Johar of making light of Tagore's legacy and of using his name to promote his film. Others have defended Johar, saying that the scene is simply a joke and that it is not meant to be taken seriously.
